Now that summer is in full swing, I wanted to share some of our most used travel tips and tricks when vacationing with our littles. Now that Vivi is older we are able to venture out more and have perfected the art of traveling over the last few years.
Tip #1:
Pack them each their own travel basket for the ride- snacks, colors, coloring books, regular books, card games, etc.
Tip #2:
Have a visible countdown for them to see how much longer without having to ask.
Tip #3:
Bathroom breaks are a family affair- meaning if you stop, everyone tries to potty at that one stop.
Tip #4:
Pack your stroller, wagon, or carrier- some go up to higher weights to strap baby to back. You can even check ahead because some places have them for rent. I can’t tell you how many times I have forgotten a stroller… and it wasn’t fun.
Tip #5:
Consider staying at a place where you can cook some of your meals.
Tip #6:
Find a hotel where you can stream their shows from your devices to the TV. Nothing worse than having to scroll the cable channels to try to find their fav show.
Tip #7:
Try packing all clothes and outfits needed in one ziploc bag per day- Monday bag has clothes for day, extras, and then also pajamas, socks, underwear , etc.
Tip #8:
Factor in time for stretching those little legs on a drive. Rest stop areas are perfect for running around!
Tip #9:
Let them help choose activities for the trip. It will help them be even more excited! When I took Olivia and Charlie with me to Kansas City, they literally chose all the things from our Legoland trip to where we ordered DoorDash from, and they loved every minute of it! It’s still one of my most favorite trips.
Tip #10:
And lastly- remember it’s a vacation, and it is supposed to be fun! Try not to stress, have fun, make memories, and take all things in stride! MAKE MEMORIES!!
Let me know if these help! Enjoy your summer vacations with your family, and we’ll chat soon!!
