We found out a few months ago that we would have the opportunity to go to Prague for my daughters ballet summer intensive. We were so excited, but my mind immediately wandered to “oh my goodness what am I going to pack?” Lol. It’s a big group of us, and we will be making a lot of stops so we all decided to just take one carry-on, and a personal item like a backpack.

We are flying into Stuttgart Germany, spending a night and then taking a train to Prague. We will be there for 4 to 5 days and then will be making a weekend trip to Vienna then coming back to Prague for the week and then heading to Rome and Florence Italy before coming home. It’s going to be the most amazing trip, but planning outfits for 18 days and only taking a carry on was a challenge, but definitely one I was up for! The temps in Prague during the day are around 70-80 degrees Fahrenheit and drop to 50-60 degrees Fahrenheit at night. This meant we needed enough pieces for layering to carry outfits from day to night.

Since shoes take up the most space in a carry on, I knew I had to keep that part super simple and stick to just a few pair. Another place that you can lose a lot of space is outerwear. It rains off and on there so a light rain jacket is a must, and a denim jacket, neutral pullover, and cardigan are such classic staple pieces so I knew you can’t go wrong with those. I chose a bright red sling bag because it adds the cutest pop of color to any outfit, but decided to throw in the cute straw bag too. A bag is such an easy way to switch up an outfit look. Button ups are perfect layering pieces so I went with a classic white in a short and long sleeve then added the stripes to switch things up some.
All of the pieces are super easy to mix and match and every single one can be layered- even the dresses!
