When you get the chance to stay at a beautiful hotel like The Pontchartrain – you clear your schedule, kiss your babies bye, and you GO!! This past weekend, some girlfriends and I spent a few days there just unwinding, enjoying the amazing views, and spending some much needed time working!
The hotel is located in the beautiful Garden District of New Orleans, Louisiana. The charm and character that this amazing hotel exudes is like no other I have ever seen. From the time we walked into the lobby and saw the elaborate hanging chandelier to the time we made it to our room and discovered the beautiful green velvet headboards and matching pink robes, it was nothing short of elegant and charming. We spent our stay in the Thalia Family Suite on the tenth floor, and the views of the Big Easy were literally amazing. The hotel was once an apartment building, and they have done such a great job of preserving that! Each room gets a real key, and the staff are happy to hold onto it for you when you venture out so you never have to worry about losing it. Who knew something as simple as a real key would add such a personal touch?
We got to eat at the famous Jack Rose restaurant, and take our picture with the Lil Wayne painting that has become quite the attraction. Each night we would relax in the Living Room to get some work done, and I couldn’t help but feel right at home on the gold velvet couches. They may have been my favorite piece of furniture in the entire hotel!
When we weren’t hanging at the hotel, we spent time exploring New Orleans. There is so much to see and take in, and the food is absolutely amazing!! Some favorite places for me were Oceana Grill, Johnny’s Po Boys, and Cafe Du Monde! Also- the shopping did not disappoint! I can’t wait to head back for another stay at The Pontchartrain so I can bring my family along! It’s definitely something I want them to experience for themselves!
