FINALLY!! Hayes’ big boy room reveal!! Since my stepson, Hudson, went to college a few months ago, we decided it was time to move the kids into their own rooms! Hayes was devastated to not be sharing a room with Charlie, but once we completed his room, he has grown to love his own space. We repurposed a lot of pieces that we already had for his room, and I love how it turned out so much!! I am linking all the items at the bottom of this post in case you need anything for your own homes!
A lot of things in his room are from IKEA like his bed, these cute cube centers, his closet, etc. The cubes came from our playroom/ schoolroom. Now that they are in school, that space has turned into a warehouse/ packaging area for my brand, VIE by Lindsey!
His bed fits perfectly under our roof slant (you guys know that we live in a barn style home so built in closets and things like that just take away from the space of each room. His bed and the sliding drawers underneath have been major space savers!
This is my favorite area of the entire room. He uses his little art corner EVERYDAY!!! The wall buckets are from IKEA. The table is a repurposed side table that had no legs. We added some hairpin legs from Amazon, and it was the perfect size for this space. I do want to replace the chair, but for now this is just fine for him! The IKEA picture ledge is the cutest bookshelf and doesn’t take up much space either.
I love his big closets (from IKEA) because it can easily be taken out if the room is ever anything other than a bedroom. I love the function of them, but also how non-committal they have been as far as we have some flexibility in the layout and function of the room.
I hope you guys love his room as much as we do!! It’s functional, space-saving, and has been so nice to give him his own space!! Let me know what you think in the comments!
